RE:VEAL Part 1: Discover Restoration
OUR STORY.
Pastor Seth & and his wife Pamela dreamed of planting a church with a simple goal – to reach people for Jesus! With the help and support of various churches and dream team members, this dream became a reality and Restoration Church began on Saturday, April 4, 2015. That Saturday, 81 people attended our first service at the Monticello Fire Hall.
Since that time, many have had their lives changed by Jesus.
From the beginning, Restoration Church focused on helping people Reach, Restore, & Release. We strive to create an enjoyable and welcoming environment where people can discover a real relationship with God and be encouraged by others.
“We exist to lead people to become fully engaged followers of Christ. Transforming them into leaders that impact, influence, and change the world. That’s how we’re able to make a difference, and it’s the driving force behind everything we do.”

WEEKEND SERVICES
We consider reaching people one of our greatest responsibilities. Our weekend services serve people at all stages in their spiritual journey but are primarily geared toward the lost and unchurched.
FIRST GLANCE
This informal get together is simply a time for our family to get to know your family.
FIRST GLANCE is a great opportunity to meet the Pastors & Leaders here at Restoration. People get an insiders look at how and WHY we do what we do.
STARTING POINT
Everything has a beginning. Every person, every idea, every journey starts somewhere. Whether it's one small step in a new direction or a major event, from that point forward nothing is ever the same. Starting Point is for people who are curious about God, have a new relationship with Jesus Christ, or is looking to renew their faith in God.

S.O.A.P Method for Daily devotional time
In order to find a Bible Reading Plan, we encourage you to check out YOUVERSION.COM. There are Bible reading plans that cover the whole Bible, focus on a specific topic and more.
Once you choose a Bible reading plan, we recommend using the S.O.A.P method to get the most out of your time with God. S.O.A.P. journaling is a simple and excellent way to both record and process what God has spoken to you. Here's how it works:
S. FOR SCRIPTURE
Open your Bible to your reading for the day. Take time reading and allow God to speak to you. When you are done, look for a verse that particularly spoke to you that day, and write it in your journal.
O. FOR OBSERVATION
What do you think God is saying to you in this scripture? Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and reveal Jesus to you.
A. FOR APPLICATION
Personalize what you have read, by asking yourself how it applies to your life right now. Perhaps it is instruction, encouragement, a new promise, or corrections for a particular area of your life. Write how this scripture can apply to you today.
P. FOR PRAYER
This can be as simple as asking God to help you use this scripture, or even a prayer for a greater insight on what He may be revealing to you. Remember, prayer is a two-way conversation, so be sure to listen to what God has to say! Now, write it out.

RE:COMMUNITY GROUPS
Real life change happens in the context of relationships – small groups. In the Bible, they worshipped in the temple but ministry happened house to house.
“You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house.” - Acts 20:20
RE:COMMUNITY GROUPS PROVIDE THREE THINGS:
1. A place to CONNECT .
“…yes, whatever a person is like, I try to find common ground with him so he will let me tell him about Christ and let Christ save him.” - 1 Corinthians 9:22
2. A place to PROTECT .
“We know what real love is because Christ gave up His life for us. And so we also ought to give up our lives for our Christian brothers and sisters.” - 1 John 3:16
3. A place to GROW .
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” - Proverbs 27:17
HOW RE:GROUPS WORK
1. Community Groups
Our groups are as varied as we are; group leaders use their gifts and passions to create a group that allows others to join with them in serving God. Groups vary in location, topic, types and day/times.
2. Becoming a Leader
We believe that everyone has areas of strength and gifting that could benefit others. The first step in becoming a group leader is to attend the Growth Group Leader Training. These trainings are offered throughout the year to give you an overview of what it takes to start a group. You’ll discover that it’s easier than you think.
RE:TEAM
The Dream Team is a group of incredible people that have discovered their gifts and passions and are using them to make a difference.
From creating a welcoming environment by serving on the Guest Services Team, to impacting children and families on the RE:Kids Team, to setting up equipment or serving behind the scenes — this team is all about making a difference and we believe that All of us were created by God to make a difference in the life of another person.
God has a place for you where your unique abilities and passions can touch the lives of others. We believe that your life will never make sense until you find, develop, and fulfill that purpose.
“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” - Ephesians 2:10
“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me.” - Acts 20:24
“Now God gives us many kinds of special abilities…and there are different kinds of service to God (ministry)…All of you together are the one Body of Christ and each of you is a separate and necessary part of it.” - 1 Corinthians 12:4-5, 27
TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK!

BAPTISM
The Bible clearly teaches that baptism is the first step of obedience after making a commitment to Christ. Baptism allows a believer to communicate to the world their heart-felt decision to follow Jesus.
“Baptism is the OUTWARD EXPRESSION of an INWARD CHANGE.”

OUT[RE]ACH | LIVE ON MISSION
Mathew 28:18-20 provides what we call “The Great Commission” to make disciples of all nations.
Acts 1:8 provides the structure of our strategy to share the Gospel with people locally, regionally, nationally and around the world.
Locally we do our best to “live on mission” as individuals serving our community. We are committed to sharing the Gospel, making disciples (followers of Jesus) and helping to start new churches (“church plants”).
Regionally we partner with local churches from the Hudson Baptist Association (HBA), Northeast Church Planting and Baptist Convention of New York (BCNY) to start and strengthen churches.
Nationally we partner with the North American Mission Board and Partner Churches to start new churches and strengthen existing ones.
Internationally we partner with various missionaries as well with the International Missions Board and it’s 5,000 missionaries to share the Gospel

LEAD
Leadership is not a title, it’s a lifestyle. We believe EVERYONE has a level of God-given influence on someone else. Our VISION is to help people DISCOVER the influence placed on their lives and use it to LEAD faithfully in changing this world for Jesus.
LEADERS ARE SERVANTS FIRST AND FOREMOST.

RE:LATE – CHURCH MEMBERSHIP
WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A MEMBER
The difference between ‘attenders’ and ‘members’ can be summed up in one word: COMMITMENT.
STEPS FOR MEMBERSHIP:
1.SALVATION
2. BAPTISM
3. MEMBERSHIP CONVENANT
AT RESTORATION CHURCH:
Every member is a MINISTER
Every task is IMPORTANT .
Every member is a “10” in SOMETHING .
LIVE GENEROUSLY | LIVE TO GIVE
“We EMBRACE Generosity”
We know it changes lives – ours and the people we’re reaching. At Restoration, taking action on your generosity is simple.
Tithing is our foundation of giving. The Bible teaches us a baseline standard for giving: the tithe. When we give the first 10% of our income to the church, we put God first in our lives. Tithing is an act of worship that expresses our gratitude, faith, and love for others.
God also encourages us to give offerings beyond our tithe to specific projects at our local church and to other organizations and causes that we personally believe in.
CHANGE YOUR WORLD
// STATEMENT OF FAITH
:: About God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
:: About You
You are made in the spiritual image of God to be like Him in character. You are the supreme object of God's creation and love. Although you have tremendous potential for good, you are marred by an attitude of disobedience towards God called "sin." This attitude separates you from God until the relationship is restored through a personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
:: About Eternity
Humans were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.
:: About Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.
:: About Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God to humanity. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of Forgiveness can we be saved from sin's penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
:: About The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.
:: About The Bible
The Bible is God's Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error.
